Production Manager

FS Builder Resources- Leedo Cabinets Division

Lead Operations. Drive Performance. Build Excellence.

This is a key leadership role responsible for directing plant personnel, optimizing production processes, developing high-performing teams, and ensuring operational excellence through our Production Control Management System.

Position Summary

The Production Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of assigned manufacturing areas, ensuring production goals are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, efficiency, and employee engagement. The successful candidate will be a results-driven leader with a proven track record of managing manufacturing operations, improving productivity, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead plant operations with a strong focus on safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
  • Establish and implement policies and procedures that support operational excellence.
  • Analyze operational metrics and performance indicators to achieve production goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain quality-focused manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards through inspections, audits, and training programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Engineering, Finance, Quality, Materials, and Human Resources.
  • Monitor plant performance and take corrective action to achieve objectives related to:
    • Safety
    • Productivity
    • Quality
    • Cost
    • Delivery
    • Inventory Management
  • Develop departmental budgets, strategies, and operating procedures.
  • Lead cost-reduction and efficiency improvement initiatives.
  • Plan staffing levels to support production requirements and maintain operational effectiveness.
  • Monitor overtime usage and workforce productivity.
  • Promote employee development through cross-training and skills enhancement.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture and strong employee relations.
  • Ensure consistent enforcement and continuous improvement of departmental processes.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of manufacturing leadership experience in a production environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing manufacturing operations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to drive operational improvements and deliver results.

Preferred

  • Experience within the wood products, cabinetry, millwork, or related manufacturing industries.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position works primarily in a manufacturing plant environment and requires regular presence on the production floor.
  • Ability to work a 10-12 hour shift, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays based on business needs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, move, or handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments where safety equipment such as eye protection, hearing protection, and respirators may be required.
  • Facility may not be climate-controlled and may experience varying temperatures throughout the year.
