Job SummaryQTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidate will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs.
Job Duties/ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:
- Understanding, implementing, and testing both existing and new capabilities and algorithms, which include complex mathematics and physics-based solutions, that directly support program capabilities on behalf of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA)
- Participate as part of a team writing the software (currently ~1.5 million lines of code) that evaluates and manages the threat scene for the missile defense system that protects the US
Minimum Education and Experience- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment
- Experience in software development with proficiency in Java and C++
- Familiarity with JavaFX and Java 21 features
- Proficiency using Git
- Experience deploying and managing software in a Linux (preferably RHEL8) environment
- Familiarity with Eclipse IDE
- Strong grasp of OOP design principles and patterns
- Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed.
- Self-motivated and customer-oriented.
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Missile Defense domain knowledge
- Knowledge of MySQL for database management and data retrieval
- Experience with gRPC and RESTful services
- Familiarity with Atlassian toolset (Jira, Bitbucket)
- Security + Certification
