Responsibilities

  • Perform power system impact studies: Steady-State, Short Circuit, and Dynamic Stability
  • Conduct NERC-compliance-related technical analyses like TPL-001-4 Annual Planning Assessments
  • Oversee full generator interconnection studies, including Sub-Synchronous Resonance (SSR) studies
  • Ensure renewable/storage projects meet Voltage Ride-Through (VRT) requirements
  • Engage in ERCOT working group meetings and case building efforts for clients
  • Prepare technical study reports for all completed studies
  • Process and maintain relevant data for all studies
  • Meet project deadlines while adhering to quality and budget objectives
  • Identify training needs and communicate them to the Engineering Manager

Overview

Develop and conduct computer modeling and analysis for transmissionplanning studieswhich include steady state analysis, short circuit analysis, and dynamic stability analysis.Studies may include near-term and long-term transmission planning, generator interconnection studies, reliability-driven transmission project alternatives development, and NERC standards compliance analyses.

Responsibilities

Howyou can make an impact:

  • Perform power system impact studies: SteadyState, Short Circuit,andDynamicStability
  • Perform NERC-compliance-relatedtechnical analysessuch as TPL-001-4 Annual Planning Assessments.
  • Perform full generator interconnection studies which may also include Sub-Synchronous Resonance (SSR) studies.
  • Ensure thatrenewable and/or storage resource projects interconnecting to the transmission systemmeet VoltageRide-Through (VRT)requirements.
  • Participate in ERCOT working group meetings and case building efforts on behalf of specific clients as assigned.
  • Preparetechnical study reports for all studies performed.
  • Process, generate,and maintain data as required forallstudies.
  • Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives.
  • Identify training needs and present to the Engineering Manageras needed.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned
