We are looking for an experienced Power System Automation Engineer . This position will be based at either our Wendell, North Carolina headquarters or our site in Boulder, Colorado. We offer relocation assistance for eligible candidates.

You'll make a difference by: - Design, configure and test automation and control systems for complex power systems and substations, ensuring high reliability and system integrity.
- Complete Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)-skilled in preparing comprehensive test procedures, commissioning scripts, and leading successful project delivery.
- Develop new applications using relevant communication protocols in the power automation industry such as IEC 61850, MODBUS, DNP3.
- Develop and create control logic diagrams, network architectures, signal lists, and functional design documents for protection and control schemes.
- Be a proactive technical leader and collaborator, trusted to guide project teams, solve complex challenges, and get results across all phases of the project lifecycle-from initial design to final commissioning.
- Experienced serving as the primary technical collaborate with clients, providing on-site support, troubleshooting, and commissioning expertise with a focus on performance and customer satisfaction.
You'll win us over by having the following qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronic engineering, or computer engineering.
- Five (5) or more years of engineering experience in Power Automation, SCADA or Substation Automation
- Ability to read and fully understand DC and AC schematics, three- and one-line diagrams for Medium and/or High Voltage substations systems.
- Advanced knowledge of at least one of the automation products and associated software from vendors such as Siemens, GE, SEL or ABB
- Experience implementing communication protocols such as IEC61850 (MMS/GOOSE/SMV), DNP, Modbus, IEC60870-5-101/103/104, Profinet, Profibus, OPC, for power automation systems.
- Substation Automation commissioning experience.
- Factory and Site testing experience in automation and control systems.
- Ability and willingness to travel 50 to 70% depending on business need, project assignments and requirements.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications: - Applied knowledge in communication networks, including design, configuration, and troubleshooting of layer 2 and layer 3 capable devices for protection and automation applications
- Advanced knowledge in Siemens Power Automation products such as SICAM PAS, SICAM A8000, SICAM SCC.
- Knowledge in Siemens protection products such as SIPROTEC 5.
- Experience with Power Automation engineering tools such as SICAM Device Manager, SICAM Toolbox, SIMATIC WinCC
- Advanced knowledge in Siemens Industry Automation products such as SIMATIC PLC, TIA Portal, WinCC Advanced/Professional/Unified.
- Advanced Programming skills and experience with programming languages used in process and power automation such as C++, ST, LD, FBD, SFC, CFC.

The pay range for this position is $74,970 - $128,520 annually with a target incentive of 5% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
