Job Summary:The Power Engineer is to own rack-level power deployment, load validation, and electrical failure triage on the production floor. This role ensures pre-designed power subsystems, including 100kW+ power shelves, busbars, PDUs, and voltage regulation systems, are properly integrated, safely configured, and rigorously stress-tested to support high-density and dynamic AI compute loads.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Execute high-power dynamic load validation and burn-in testing for AI server/rack systems to verify power stability and performance under demanding compute conditions. Monitor transient loads, power behavior, thermal conditions, and system protection thresholds to identify potential risks before deployment.
- Troubleshoot power-related failures involving power shelves, busbars, PDUs, voltage regulation, and rack-level power distribution. Perform root-cause failure analysis and coordinate with R&D, manufacturing, and other engineering teams to drive timely corrective actions.
- Configure, calibrate, and validate smart power shelves, PDUs, and related power management systems. Verify firmware settings, power communication protocols, monitoring functions, and protection thresholds to ensure proper system operation
- Enforce high-voltage electrical safety procedures during rack integration, testing, troubleshooting, and production activities. Conduct safety audits and ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety requirements and established site procedures.
- Monitor power efficiency, voltage, current, load behavior, and other power telemetry to identify performance trends and abnormal conditions. Generate technical reports and provide data-driven recommendations to improve power reliability, efficiency, and system performance.
Education:- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with an emphasis in Power Systems or Power Electronics; Electronic Engineering Technology; Energy Engineering; Power Engineering; or a related discipline is required.
Experience:- 1+ year of experience with high-density power architecture, rack-level power distribution, L10/L11 integration, power shelves, busbars, PDUs, or related systems. Strong understanding of power delivery and rack integration is required.
- 1+ year of experience performing high-power load validation, burn-in testing, and dynamic/transient load analysis. Ability to evaluate system performance under high and rapidly changing AI compute loads.
- 1+ year of experience conducting power-related root-cause failure analysis and production-floor troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of circuit protection, safety thresholds, fault conditions, and systematic diagnostic methods.
- 1+ year of experience configuring or validating smart power shelves, PDUs, firmware, telemetry, or power management systems. Knowledge of power communication protocols and monitoring systems is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical safety frameworks, high-voltage safety practices, and safe testing procedures. Ability to work effectively on the production floor, communicate technical issues clearly, and collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and cross-functional engineering teams.
