Full Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on Power Electronics Engineer to contribute across the full converter development cycle, from topology analysis and simulation through schematic capture, PCB layout, magnetics design, and laboratory bring-up and validation of power stages.

In this role, you will work closely with electrical, firmware, controls, and systems engineering teams to develop and optimize power electronics solutions for Electric Hydrogen's products.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Participate in converter topology analysis, including design and optimization, loss calculations, and development of costed bills of materials (BOMs)
  • Develop schematics and execute PCB layouts using industry-standard design tools
  • Analyze and design magnetic components, including inductors and transformers, with responsibility for core and winding selection and loss estimation
  • Perform hands-on laboratory debugging and troubleshooting of power stages, including bring-up, testing, and validation
  • Support modeling and simulation of power electronics converters to evaluate performance and inform design decisions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the design, development, testing, and validation process

Qualifications
  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • For mid-level candidates, 3+ years of relevant industry experience in power electronics; strong academic, project, or internship experience in power electronics will be considered for junior-level candidates
  • Experience with power electronics converters, including rectifiers and inverters
  • Working knowledge of magnetics analysis and design
  • Experience with power electronics modeling and simulation tools such as PLECS, Simulink, or comparable tools
  • Solid understanding of analog and digital circuitry
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools; experience with OrCAD is preferred
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of power electronics hardware
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of power electronics control is a plus
  • Familiarity with digital design and microcontrollers is a plus
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) tools such as Ansys Maxwell is a plus

$154,000-$181,000 USD

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.
