POSITION: Power Electrical Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Power Validation Engineer to join our AI Glass hardware validation team. This role is responsible for validating and optimizing power consumption across Meta's AI-enabled smart glasses. The ideal candidate will drive power measurement, analysis, and regression debugging to ensure optimal battery life and thermal performance . You will collaborate closely with hardware design, firmware, and AI/ML teams to deliver power-efficient products that meet consumer expectations.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead power validation of AI Glass products across all device use cases
  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive power measurement test plans for wearable devices in an on-site lab environment.
  • Debug power regressions by analyzing electrical measurements, device logs, firmware power state transitions, and system-level interactions.
  • Characterize power consumption across various operating conditions (temperature, voltage corners, workloads) and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Collaborate with firmware and software teams to validate power management features.
  • Develop and maintain automated power measurement test infrastructure using Python-based scripting and data acquisition systems.
  • Prepare comprehensive test reports with data-driven analysis and effectively communicate findings and progress to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Support power budgeting and battery life estimation for new product development and feature additions.
  • Identify and drive resolution of power-related issues found during validation, working with design and firmware teams on root-cause analysis and corrective actions.


What You Will Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in power consumption measurement and validation of embedded electronic products.
  • Experience with power validation on battery-powered consumer electronics, wearables, or small form factor devices.
  • Strong expertise in power consumption measurement techniques and methodologies for various device use cases .
  • Solid knowledge of electronics circuits, power management ICs, voltage regulators, and battery charging systems.
  • Proficiency with electronics lab test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, source-measure units, data acquisition systems, current probes).
  • Hands-on experience with hardware testing on small form factor PCBs and wearable devices.
  • Good knowledge of microprocessors/controllers, SoCs, and digital communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, USB).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret complex power data and identify root causes.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to present technical findings to diverse audiences.


Work Experience

Preferred Skill:
  • Experience with programming and automated test system design for hardware validations.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML workload characterization and power profiling of neural network accelerators.
  • Experience with wireless protocol power optimization (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular).
  • Knowledge of battery management systems, fuel gauging, and battery life modeling.
  • Experience with thermal management and correlation of power/thermal behavior.
  • Familiarity with power management frameworks in embedded Linux or RTOS environments.
  • Experience with data visualization tools and statistical analysis for power data interpretation.

Pay Range: $100,000 - $130,000

Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.

Work Requirements:

This role is considered an on-site position located in Sunnyvale, CA

You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
