ROLE OVERVIEW

Verition is seeking a motivated Post-Trade Operations Team Lead to join its Middle Office team. This is a senior leadership role responsible for the firm's post-trade operations across equities, fixed income, OTC derivatives, FX, and futures. The Team Lead will manage a team of operations professionals, own end-to-end trade lifecycle processes - including settlement, reconciliation, and partner closely with Trading, Portfolio Management, Risk, Technology, and external counterparties (prime brokers, custodians, and fund administrators) to ensure a strong control environment as the firm scales.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and manage a team of post-trade operations professionals across trade support, reconciliation, and settlements functions.
  • Own end-to-end post-trade processing across equities, fixed income, OTC derivatives, FX, and futures, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and a strong control environment.
  • Oversee daily trade settlement processes across multiple custodians, prime brokers, and counterparties.
  • Direct daily cash, position, and trade reconciliations; ensure timely investigation and resolution of breaks and aged exceptions.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex trade and settlement issues, coordinating with Trading, Portfolio Management, Risk, Technology, and Fund Administration.
  • Build, mentor, and develop the operations team; set priorities, review workflows, and support hiring and onboarding.
  • Partner with Technology on platform and automation initiatives to streamline post-trade workflows and reduce operational risk.
  • Maintain and enhance operational controls, procedures, and documentation in line with regulatory and audit requirements.
  • Prepare and present operational metrics, risk indicators, and process updates to senior management.
  • Support broker, custodian, and counterparty onboarding from an operational readiness standpoint.
  • Drive continuous AI improvement initiatives to increase the efficiency and scalability of post-trade operations as the firm grows.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10+ years of operations or middle office experience at a hedge fund, asset manager, or financial services firm, including prior people management experience.
  • Broad, hands-on knowledge of post-trade processing across equities, fixed income, OTC derivatives, FX, and futures.
  • Proven experience managing or mentoring a team in a fast-paced, multi-asset operations environment.
  • Strong understanding of trade lifecycle events, settlement processes, and reconciliation practices across custodians and prime brokers.
  • Experience with industry platforms such as Geneva, Bloomberg AIM, DUCO, MarkitWire/OSTTRA, or CTM.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; comfortable engaging with senior management, Trading, and external counterparties.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to build scalable processes and controls.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline required.
