Full Job Description

JM Family Enterprises is seeking a Portfolio Manager who will provide strategic oversight of portfolios while serving as a key partner in portfolio management, budgeting, forecasting and executive reporting. This role is responsible for ensuring alignment between project investments, organizational priorities and financial objectives.

They will be working closely with technologyleadership, finance teams, project managers and business stakeholders. Portfolio Manager drives portfolio governance, financial transparency, risk management, and strategic decision-making process across a complex technology portfolio.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and deliver executive-level presentations to communicate portfolio status, financial performance, risks, strategy and recommendations to business stakeholders. 

  • Lead portfolio governance activitiesto ensure projects, programs, and investments align with business and organizational priorities.

  • Oversee andfacilitate ongoing collaboration with project and portfolio managers for effective reporting and delivery.

  • Manage resource allocation, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication across multiple projects. 

  • Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of portfolio and department financials including annual budget and monthly forecast processes.

  • Oversee vendor financial performance, support invoice, contract and expenditure review processes.

  • Define, monitor and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate project success and overall portfolio health. 

  • Recruit, onboard, and mentor project management talent to support organizational growth. 

  • Establish and promote portfolio management best practices, governance standards, reporting frameworks and continuous improvement strategies.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Portfolio Management, Program Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience managing portfolio financials, departmental budgets, annual planning cycles, forecasting activities and financial reporting processes.

  • Strong understanding of financial concepts including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cost management, vendor expenditures, and Profit and Loss (P&L) reporting.

  • Strong conceptual knowledge and problem-solving abilities in project/portfolio management. 

  • Proven experience leading complex initiatives independently. 

  • Expertise in vendor management and cross-functional collaboration within complex organizational environment.  

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 

  • Strong coaching, consulting capabilities withexperience managing escalated issues and guiding teams through resolution. 

  • Proficiency with project management tools and reporting dashboards (e.g., Microsoft Project, Power BI, etc.). 

  • Experience with Service Now Portfolio and Project Management or similar portfolio management platforms.

  • Experience using Net Suite or similar financial management systems.

  • Professional certifications like PMP, PgMP, PMI_PBA, PMI-PMOCP or SAFe are preferred.
