Job Summary

Barings is seeking an Associate / Senior Associate to join its Global Private Finance team, supporting the Portfolio Management function. This individual will work closely with Portfolio Managers and cross-functional partners (Deal Teams, Fund Finance, Legal) to monitor portfolios, support reporting, and assist with capital activity.

This role is execution-focused and offers exposure to:
• Direct lending portfolios
• Portfolio construction and performance analytics
• Cross-functional processes within a multi-strategy asset manager

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the ongoing monitoring of investment portfolios, including tracking performance, exposures, and key risk metrics
  • Assist with cash management activities, including reviewing sources/uses of cash and supporting capital calls, distributions, and line draws
  • Prepare and help review quarterly and ad hoc portfolio reporting materials
  • Build and maintain financial models and forecasts for portfolio-level analysis
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of portfolio reporting tools and processes, including automation initiatives
  • Analyze portfolio dashboards to track performance, trends, and pipeline activity
  • Support review of IRR and performance calculations
  • Help ensure portfolios remain compliant with investment guidelines and mandates
  • Attend internal meetings (IC, portfolio reviews, watchlist discussions) to support discussion of individual investments with investors
  • Assist with client communications, including preparing materials for monthly/quarterly calls
  • Support trade execution and administrative processes, including placing investment orders in accordance with each vehicle’s investment guidelines
