Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• Reside within 50 miles of New Orleans/Baton Rouge
• 10+ years in maritime industry, with 5+ years as a Captain
• Proven supervisory skills
• Must hold a Master of Towing Vessels certification
• TWIC Card and Personal Radio License required
• Radar Observer and QI Training certifications
• Experience in incident investigation

Responsibilities

• Travel to multiple locations with extended stays as needed
• Enforce Safety Management System for fleet operations
• Ensure regulatory training compliance for all personnel
• Assist in creating and managing operational budgets
• Investigate and report on vessel damage and safety incidents
• Complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner
• Review dispatch orders for accuracy pre-transit
• Oversee crew management and training development
• Maintain Navigational Standards and vessel inspections
• Coordinate necessary marine support services like tugs and pilots
• Provide technical expertise for specialized field jobs
• Manage no more than 10 assigned vessels
