DescriptionThe City of Marysville Police Division (MPD) is hiring
Police Officers (Police Recruits) to serve our citizens and uphold the mission and vision of the MPD. The Division seeks talented, dedicated, and conscientious people who want to make a difference in our community.
Police Officers and Police Recruits work to promote and maintain community-oriented policing efforts, provide emergency aid, enforce state laws and city ordinances, protect life and property, and uphold the guiding principles of the MPD: Dedication, Integrity, Courage, and Empathy.
Applicants must:- Have an Ohio Police Officer's Training Council Certification (OPOTA) is preferred.
(Non-Certified candidates will be appointed to a Police Recruit position and must be able to attend and successfully complete a State Certified Peace Officer training program/academy as soon as practical after appointment.)
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent. Some college and previous law enforcement experience is preferred.
- Valid Ohio Driver's License.
- Applicants must also possess a clear background/history and good driving record.

Salary Information: Police Officer (OPOTA Certified) $71,968 - $96,435.46 with excellent benefits package. Lateral starting wages depend on experience.
Police Recruit (No OPOTA Certification) starts at $59,820.00 with an excellent benefits package.

MPD encourages lateral hires (transfers) from other Ohio law enforcement agencies with an accelerated starting wage and prior service vacation credit provided and based on previous experience. Lateral candidates are still required to apply and test. Lateral hire candidates will be contacted and informed of this status consideration prior to interviews. Hiring steps may be eliminated/reduced (an expedited hire), on a case-by-case basis.
