Pay Range: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Supervises, coordinates and participates in activities of employees performing routine, standardized biological and/or biochemical tests, as well as more complex procedures on blood that assist physicians in the diagnosis and clinical management of patients,

Assume responsibility for recognizing results or problems that require referral to Medical Director or Administrative Director and/or Manager,

As a Supervisor, you will provide day-to-day oversight of the laboratory and oversee laboratory operations, Take ownership of directing the laboratory operations and support the entire laboratory and pathology service line, Supervise clinical operations of the department, Work closely with the laboratory director/manager to coordinate a wide variety of administrative, technical, fiscal and educational activities to provide quality laboratory services, Collaborate across multi-disciplinary groups representing the laboratory, Organize, develop, plan and implement section and department goals, objectives, policies and procedures necessary for providing quality patient care,

Qualifications:

Required:
  • BS/BA Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biological, Chemical or Life Science
  • Certification by ASCP or AMT as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist,
  • 4-5 years of experience working as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist, in a healthcare, hospital, laboratory, or clinical setting,
  • Must be able to travel between Monmouth and Monmouth South campuses and affiliated off-site POC testing locations,


Preferred:
  • Masters degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory, Management or public health preferred
  • Experience in POCT preferred
  • Leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred,

Essential Functions:

1, The general supervisor is responsible for day-to-day supervision or over sight of the Laboratory operation and personnel performing testing and reporting test results,

2, Must be accessible to testing personnel at all times testing is performed to provide on-site, telephone or electronic consultation to resolve technical problems in accordance with policies and procedures established by the Laboratory Director,

3, Responsible for monitoring test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure that acceptance levels of analytic performance are maintained,

4, Assist the Administrative Director or designee with reports, including but not limited to productivity, quality, and suggestions for improvement,

5, Manage the operations of the department,

6, Maintain all quality and service standards,

7, Adhere to department budget,

8 Implement, enforce and monitor all QC, QA, service, safety and compliance indicators and programs,

9 Staff supervision including but not limited to training and competency assessment,

10, Perform interviews, hiring and participate in corrective action steps,

11, Perform annual employee performance evaluations,

12, Hold staff meetings and maintain minutes,

13, Produce, monitor and maintain productivity, quality and TAT metrics,

14, Prepare and revise SOP s and manuals,

15, Participation in inventory control,

16, Documentation and timely completion of special projects,

17, Troubleshoot technical, equipment and computer-related problems,

18, Validation of methodology and instrumentation,

19, Other duties and/or projects as assigned,
