Full Job Description
Position Overview
The PMO Analyst provides critical analytical and coordination support to the PMO Manager, consolidating project performance data across workstreams to enable effective governance and data-driven decisions within a large federal IT program. This role translates cost, schedule, risk, and milestone information into dashboards, reports, and metrics that provide clear visibility into program health for leadership and client stakeholders.

In addition to reporting, the PMO Analyst helps enforce PMO standards and operating procedures by maintaining risk, issue, and action logs; monitoring schedule and budget indicators; and supporting governance forums and working sessions. The position also contributes to continuous improvement by identifying process gaps, recommending enhancements, and maintaining documentation, templates, and playbooks used across the program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, validate, and consolidate status, milestone, and performance data from multiple projects and workstreams to support recurring program-level reports and executive briefings.
  • Develop, update, and maintain PMO dashboards and visual reporting products (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) to clearly present cost, schedule, risk, and progress metrics.
  • Maintain program risk registers, issue logs, action item trackers, and dependency lists, tracking status and escalating trends or critical items to PMO leadership.
  • Monitor integrated schedules and key milestones, flagging variances, slippage, and interdependency conflicts that require PMO or leadership intervention.
  • Support financial monitoring activities by tracking expenditures, assisting with earned value data collection, and preparing cost variance and budget status reporting.
  • Help ensure project teams adhere to PMO methodologies, SOPs, templates, and compliance frameworks through periodic checks, light audits, and guidance.
  • Coordinate PMO meetings and governance forums, including preparing agendas, capturing minutes and action items, and tracking follow-through to closure.
  • Develop and maintain PMO documentation, including standards, process guides, templates, and playbooks that support consistent execution across the program.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience in project/program support or management analysis.
  • 8 or more years of progressive experience in program or project management support, management analysis, or a closely related field within large enterprise or federal IT environments.
  • Demonstrated experience consolidating and analyzing project performance data, including schedule, cost, and risk metrics, and presenting findings to management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools to build reports, charts, and basic dashboards; familiarity with at least one enterprise reporting tool.
  • Experience working within structured PMO or project governance frameworks, including adherence to templates, SOPs, and compliance processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to produce clear reports, meeting records, and stakeholder communications.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance; US citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools for developing interactive, program-level dashboards.
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management data collection and reporting in federal IT or similar complex program environments.
  • PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification demonstrating knowledge of formal PM practices.
