Full Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for the following: Other duties may be assigned.
  1. Responsible for the safe and successful execution of an assigned newbuilding project, in accordance with the company's overall safety goals, objectives and policies.
  2. Serve as the customer-facing owner of the assigned project's schedule, budget, and overall delivery outcome from contract award through vessel delivery and warranty support.
  3. Maximize financial returns on the assigned project by monitoring cost performance, identifying variances, and driving corrective action in coordination with the PMO Director.
  4. Ensure the assigned project is executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all contractual and classification society requirements.
  5. Continuously monitor the assigned project's schedule, resource needs, and risk profile, escalating conflicts with other projects or functional departments to the PMO Director for resolution.
  6. Work closely with NB Production Planning to track the project's schedule of record, and with NB Production, NB Production Engineering, and NB Supply Chain to monitor execution, drawing release, and material readiness for the project.
  7. Ensure compliance with Gulf Copper Mission Statement and Quality Management System.
  8. Plan, coordinate, and report on all project-level activities for the assigned vessel(s), representing the project in the Monthly Program Review.
  9. Track the detailed schedule maintained by NB Production Planning for the assigned project and report progress, schedule variance, and recovery plans to the PMO Director.
  10. Participate in change-order impact assessment for the assigned project, coordinating with NB Production Engineering, NB Production Planning, NB Supply Chain, and Quality Assurance on technical, schedule, and cost impacts.
  11. Ensure the assigned project is managed to maximize safety, quality, schedule performance, and customer satisfaction.
  12. Track work package release status from NB Production Engineering against the project's schedule, escalating drawing or engineering query delays affecting the project.
  13. Monitor material and component readiness for the assigned project in coordination with NB Supply Chain, participating in the Material Readiness Review and escalating shortages threatening the project's schedule.
  14. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with NB Production, NB Production Engineering, NB Production Planning, NB Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and the customer to ensure effective project coordination.
  15. Monitor nonconformance report (NCR) status and inspection outcomes affecting the assigned project's delivery date, coordinating with Quality Assurance on disposition timelines without directing Quality's technical or disposition decisions.
  16. Coordinate with the PMO Director on staffing and resource needs for the assigned project, and support onboarding of project-specific personnel as needed.
  17. Provide leadership, motivation, and guidance to functional personnel supporting the assigned project, without direct supervisory authority over their functional reporting line.
  18. Support continuous improvement efforts by capturing lessons learned from the assigned project and sharing them with all functional departments for incorporation into future projects.
  19. Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence throughout the assigned project.


Required Education & Experience:
  1. Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively responsible project or program coordination experience in shipbuilding, vessel construction, heavy industrial construction, offshore fabrication, or marine project environments.
  3. Demonstrated experience tracking schedule, cost, and quality performance for a complex newbuild vessel project.
  4. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, scheduling software proficiency (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project), or advanced technical degree preferred.


Working Conditions:
  1. Regular exposure to all weather conditions, especially hot, humid and / or rainy weather, combined with regular work time indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.


Necessary Equipment Operation:
  1. Computer systems and standard office equipment.
  2. Scheduling, project controls, and shipyard production management systems.
