  • Develop and manage three-week look-ahead schedules and manpower plans.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, and sequencing with other trades.
  • Lead job site safety initiatives and conduct weekly safety meetings.
  • Inspect ongoing work and manage punch lists to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Maintain daily reports and labor tracking for accurate project documentation.

Full Job Description
Skillforce has teamed up with a leading mechanical contractor to find a skilled Plumbing Superintendent to work on their commercial and industrial projects.

This is a full-time, direct hire position based out of Charleston, SC with occasional local travel.

Plumbing Superintendent Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $38-$45/hr depending on experience level

Plumbing Superintendent Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise plumbing foremen, journeymen, apprentices, helpers, and subcontractors.
  • Oversee commercial plumbing installations and ensure work meets plans, specifications, codes, and manufacturer requirements.
  • Perform material takeoffs, obtain pricing, and coordinate material orders.
  • Develop three-week look-ahead schedules and manpower plans.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, sequencing, and work with other trades.
  • Lead jobsite safety efforts and conduct weekly toolbox talks.
  • Inspect work, manage punch lists, and maintain quality standards.
  • Communicate with Project Managers, GCs, inspectors, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain daily reports, labor tracking, inspection records, and as-builts.

Plumbing Superintendent Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 10+ years of commercial plumbing construction experience.
  • 3+ years of plumbing crew supervision experience.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and applicable codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Journeyman/Master license and OSHA 30 preferred
  • Experience with large commercial/industrial projects and BIM/digital construction tools preferred
