Location & Schedule In this position, you will work Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, you will be working in the field for the entire day. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, you will report to the Wastewater Management building located at 2000 W 3rd Ave, Denver, CO 80223 before working in the field. This position includes the use of a company vehicle for work-related travel.

The Right-of-Way Services (ROWS) division of DOTI is seeking a full-time Plumbing Inspector within Project Plan Review & Permitting team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting on-site Plumbing Inspections for the installation of storm, and sanitary sewer systems Certificate of Occupancy approvals, and other plumbing related installations dealing with residential, and commercial properties.
Job duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Completes on-site inspections on plumbing, and related equipment installations and operations in new construction and remodels to ensure and enforce compliance with the Denver Building Code and/or City specifications
- Determines compliance or non-compliance with code/specification requirements and recommends appropriate corrections, enforcement, and/or compliance action to remedy the compliance issue(s)
- Investigates complaints of code/specification violations, recommends appropriate corrective and/or enforcement action which may include issuing "stop work" orders, summons, and/or canceling permits; and reinvestigates to verify code compliance
- Interprets and explains rules, regulations, ordinance, and standards to property owners, contractors, and the public
- Prepare written reports and maintains records of inspections performed
- Complies with standard safety rules and procedures common to the trade
- May be required to be on-call to address emergent needs

Required Minimum Qualifications - Education: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate
- Experience: Three (3) years of experience as a journey level plumber
- Education & Experience Equivalency: A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements
- Licensure & Certification: This job requires driving.
- Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application
- Possession of a valid Journey Plumber's License issued by the State of Colorado at the time of application
- Licensure in another state with reciprocity may be accepted in lieu of this requirement, provided that the applicant has Colorado licensure at completion of probation
- Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
