About the role:We are seeking a PLC Project Manager to lead the execution of complex PLC-based control system projects across multiple hyperscale and enterprise data center sites nationwide.
This is a high-travel, field-focused role supporting large-scale automation deployments in fast-paced, mission-critical environments. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in industrial automation, PLC systems, and commissioning, along with the ability to coordinate across engineering, field teams, integrators, and clients to drive successful project delivery.
You will play a key role in ensuring control systems are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of performance, reliability, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead day-to-day execution of PLC and automation projects across multiple job sites, with significant time spent on-site supporting field teams and commissioning activities.
- Manage full project lifecycle including planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, execution, and turnover.
- Coordinate closely with PLC engineers, SCADA developers, field technicians, subcontractors, and commissioning teams to ensure alignment and progress.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during project execution, providing updates, resolving issues, and managing expectations.
- Track project performance across schedule, cost, quality, and risk, and provide regular reporting to internal leadership.
- Support commissioning efforts, including system startup, troubleshooting coordination, and integration sequencing across multiple vendors.
- Manage change orders, RFIs, and contract documentation to ensure accurate scope and financial control.
- Review project deliverables including control sequences, I/O lists, and system integration requirements to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Coordinate integration between PLC systems, SCADA platforms (e.g., Ignition), and facility systems (BMS, EPMS).
- Identify and mitigate risks related to installation, commissioning timelines, and system performance.
- Ensure compliance with Divcon's internal systems, safety standards, and documentation protocols.
Qualifications:- 5+ years of experience in project management within industrial automation, PLC controls, or related environments.
- Strong working knowledge of Rockwell / Allen-Bradley PLC systems, SCADA integration, and industrial networking.
- Experience supporting field execution and commissioning of automation systems.
- Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, central plants, VFDs, and control systems integration.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects or sites simultaneously, often in fast-paced, high-demand environments.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical teams and clients.
- Experience with project management tools such as Procore, MS Project, or similar platforms.
- OSHA 30 certification obtained within the past two (2) years is required.
- If certification is not current or has not been completed, OSHA 30 training will be provided and must be successfully completed within the first week of employment.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience working in data centers or high-availability environments.
- Familiarity with Ignition SCADA, Kepware, OPC-UA, Modbus TCP, BACnet/IP, or Ethernet/IP.
- Experience coordinating with system integrators and commissioning agents.
- PMP certification or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:- Ability to travel frequently to job sites by car or plane, up to 85%
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout job sites for extended periods
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and lifts as required
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and work in tight or confined spaces
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and materials up to 50 pounds
- Manual dexterity to handle tools, wiring, and small components
- Ability to work at heights and in varying indoor and outdoor conditions
- Ability to wear and work in personal protective equipment when required (hard hate, vest, safety glasses, gloves, and safety-toed boots)
- Visual keenness to read schematics, labels, and digital displays
- Ability to visually identify and differentiate wires by assigned color
- Ability to hear and respond to alarms, equipment sounds, and verbal instructions
