Full Job Description
Milacron is looking for a PLC Controls Engineer to join our team in Batavia, OH. This role is part of the System Architecture team and contributes to the development of core control technologies for a wide range of injection molding, blow molding, and extrusion machinery.

Work You'll Do:
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies into global control platforms.
  • Participate in all development and design phases.
  • Maintain and standardize existing control systems to enhance software features across multiple machine types.
  • Contribute to improving machine and human safety.
  • Provide on-shore and off-shore support related to existing machines and new product development.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to support installed systems and optimize customer satisfaction.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, reliability improvement, and overall product enhancement.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies to ensure innovative and cost-effective control software solutions.
  • Maintain documentation in accordance with ISO and other applicable standards.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Instrumentation / Computer Science / Mechatronics / Electronics & Communication / Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 4 to 8 years of primary experience in industrial automation control systems, including motion control, PLC programming, HMI design, and fieldbus communications.
  • Proficiency in IEC 61131-3 PLC programming, real-time operating systems, and languages such as C, C++, and C#.
  • Experience with higher-level languages like HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, or Python is a plus.
  • Experience collaborating with global teams, including cross-time-zone collaboration is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in KEBA, Beckhoff, or B&R control platforms is an advantage.
