Full Job Description
A strong focus will be on:
- Creating verification plans for autonomous vehicle subsystems based on requirements.
- Developing and maintaining test infrastructure including simulation, Continuous Integration (CI) and analytics dashboards.
- Automated test execution and reporting.
You will...
- Own the verification of autonomy platform software against requirements and define ways to evaluate them efficiently and effectively.
- Act as a central point of contact for verification of code modules including localization, motion planning and control.
- Define necessary improvements for our highly realistic simulator to effectively verify autonomous platform aspects under all required conditions.
- Own the writing and tracking of tests and test executions in line with company project milestones.
- Create statistical analysis methods to inspect platform performance across large datasets.
- Implement tools and methodologies to streamline and automate the Waabi platform verification processes.
- Work closely with multiple engineering teams to validate AV software releases before physical deployment.
- Bring an in-depth understanding of sensors, compute and actuators used in self-driving systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors in an engineering discipline (MS/PhD preferred) with 3+ years of experience in automotive, robotics, or a related industry.
- Passionate about self-driving technologies, solving hard problems, and creating innovative solutions.
- Proven experience in systems engineering, verification and validation (V&V), and working with requirements and metrics.
- Knowledge of the typical autonomous vehicle stack.
- Experience in verification of complex systems.
- Strong fundamentals in mathematics, engineering and physics and basic understanding of vehicle dynamics.
- Strong software development skills (Python, C++, or Rust) with proficiency in data analysis and statistics.
- Passionate about self-driving technologies, solving hard problems, and creating innovative solutions
Bonus/nice to have:
- Experience developing and launching products in the autonomous vehicle or robotics industries.
- Experience with high-fidelity simulation systems.
- Experience building software systems from scratch.
The US yearly salary range for this role is: $133,650 - $222,000 USD and the Canada salary range for this role is: $154,289 - $220,000 CAD in addition to competitive perks & benefits. Waabi US Inc. and Waabi Canada Inc.'s yearly salary ranges are determined based on several factors in accordance with the Company's compensation practices. The salary base range is reflective of the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US and Canada locations. Note: The Company provides additional compensation for employees in this role, including discretionary equity incentive awards and discretionary annual performance bonus.
