Full Job Description
Your Team:

Join the Information Technology team at Flair as a Platform Engineer (PSS), a technically skilled professional who will support the configuration, integration, reliability, and ongoing development of Flair's Passenger Service System (PSS) and related reservations, inventory, fares, and distribution platforms. Reporting to the Manager, IT Applications, you will work closely with Revenue Management, Distribution, E-Commerce, the PSS vendor, and Digital/IT teams to configure and test system changes, manage integrations with Flair systems and distribution partners, and troubleshoot technical issues that impact booking, ticketing, fare and inventory availability, and other critical commercial operations.

This is a full-time, on-site position that can be based at any of our Edmonton (YEG), Calgary (YYC), Vancouver (YVR), or Toronto (YYZ) offices.

A Day in the Life:

As a Platform Engineer (PSS), you will:
  • Configure, maintain, and support Flair's Passenger Service System (PSS), including reservations, inventory management, and fares/pricing functionality.
  • Build and maintain fare classes, booking rules, inventory controls, and ancillary product configurations in coordination with Revenue Management and Commercial teams.
  • Administer user and role-based access for PSS applications in line with security and least-privilege requirements.
  • Apply and validate PSS platform patches, releases, and vendor-issued updates in a controlled, tested manner
  • Support and troubleshoot integrations between the PSS and Flair's booking website/e-commerce engine, ensuring accurate availability, fares, and booking flow.
  • Support and maintain distribution integrations with Global Distribution Systems (GDS), New Distribution Capability (NDC) channels, and online travel agencies (OTAs).
  • Support integration of ancillary services (seats, bags, upgrades) and loyalty program functionality within the booking and servicing flow.
  • Support integration with payment processing and fraud-screening systems used at the point of booking.
  • Develop, support, and troubleshoot industry-standard reservations and distribution messaging (e.g., EDIFACT, PNR-related messaging, NDC XML/API) between the PSS and airline, interline, and industry systems.
  • Build and maintain APIs and integration points between the PSS and other Flair systems, including the DCS, e-commerce platform, CRM/loyalty, and reporting/data platforms.
  • Monitor message flow and data integrity between systems, investigating and resolving message failures, rejects, and data mismatches.
  • Maintain integration documentation, including message specifications, mapping documents, and system interface diagrams.
  • Monitor PSS platform health, performance, and availability, proactively identifying and addressing issues before they affect booking or distribution.
  • Act as the technical escalation point for PSS-related incidents affecting booking, ticketing, fares, or inventory availability, coordinating with the PSS vendor and affected business teams to restore service.
  • Participate in major incident response and post-incident review for PSS-related outages or degraded service.
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning for the PSS and its key integrations.
  • Design and execute test plans for PSS configuration changes, integrations, and vendor releases, including regression and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), prior to production deployment.
  • Manage the technical relationship with the PSS vendor, including issue escalation, release coordination, and participation in vendor roadmap discussions.
  • Participate in change management processes for all PSS-related changes, ensuring appropriate testing, approvals, and rollback plans are in place.
  • Prepare and maintain runbooks, configuration standards, and technical documentation for the PSS platform and its integrations.
  • Provide technical training and support to Commercial, Revenue Management, and Service Desk teams on PSS functionality and known issues.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support business objectives.
