UPMC is looking for a Platform Engineer intermediate to join their team. This position will be primarily remote however will at times be required to work ON-SITE. In need of candidates with strong ServiceNow experience! Please make sure this experience is clearly illustrated in your resume

Description
The Platform Engineer- Intermediate is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining modules within the Platform at UPMC. This role involves collaborating with engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure all modules align with organizational requirements, adhere to best practices, and uphold reliability, scalability, and security standards at an Intermediate level. They must have experience designing and developing solutions based off of requirements given to them by the department.

TOP 3 Skills for this role:
  • IT Service Management experience. Preferably with ServiceNow in the Configuration Management and Asset Management areas.
  • ServiceNow ITOM experience. Especially with Agents & Discovery.
  • Experience with scripting languages. JavaScript preferred.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, configure, and customize the platform to align with business requirements.
  • Design and implement seamless data integrations with enterprise application systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, refine, and prioritize business needs.
  • Apply best practices for development, configuration, and customization following DevSecOps model.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to security of the Platform and modules.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive user and technical documentation for modules and workflows.
  • Continuously expand knowledge of emerging technologies, programming languages, and frameworks.


Qualifications:

Qualifications
• Typically, a four-year academic degree in computer programming, systems analysis, system development, or systems engineering, or at least two years of practical experience in core IT functions.
• Proficient with ServiceNow systems, modules, or similar platforms.
• Proficient in scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, or equivalent.
• Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) methodologies preferred.
• RESTful API experience preferred.
• Experience with various databases (MS SQL, Oracle, etc) and an understanding of their concepts preferred.
• Strong understanding of the DevSecOps model and its implementation.
• Strong understanding with Agile methodologies for software development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact at all levels of management.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to high-quality work.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work streams while providing clear progress updates to leadership.
• Capability to draft and document comprehensive test plans for both technical and business audiences.
• Adaptability, flexibility, and a willingness to quickly learn new technologies and concepts. A high level of customer service and collaboration in team environments.
