Full Job Description
Plant Superintendent (Full-Time) - Grande Prairie, AB / Grassland, AB

As Plant Superintendent, you are responsible for the safe and reliable operation of unmanned Onsite Industrial Gas Production Facilities. Your primary facilities are VPSA Oxygen facilities located in Grande Prairie, AB and Grassland, AB. The ideal candidate would currently reside in Grande Prairie, AB or Grassland, AB. The role requires travel and after-hours support.

The incumbent would be responsible for the following functions:

OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE
  • Use troubleshooting skills to resolve process related deviations and problems
  • Perform process equipment troubleshooting, minor repairs, improvements and preventative maintenance, utilizing appropriate processes and disciplines to maintain equipment reliability
  • Review key performance indicators for improvement areas
  • Ensure equipment inspections (PM's) are completed, plan and execute plant maintenance turnarounds, arrange for other internal resources or outside contractors as required
  • Ensuring maintenance activities are documented and maintained as well as ensuring critical spare parts inventory is maintained
  • Establishing and maintaining requisite local contractor support resources
MANAGEMENT
  • Interfacing with customers, communicating plant status and ensuring QA requirements are met
  • Expense tracking and reporting
  • Sourcing and parts/material purchasing to achieve maintenance and scheduling objectives
  • Capital expenditure management and reporting
SAFETY AND NVIRONMENTAL
  • Ensuring conformance with applicable regulations and policies
  • Managing and maintaining electronic work order system as well as accident/incident reporting and investigation
  • Completing audit/incident action plans
  • Completing all applicable safety training and record maintenance


Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1-5 years' experience in an industrial plant environment or equivalent
  • Must have good computer and technical skills in order to learn how to operate both manual and highly automated process equipment
  • Must have strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must have a current and valid driver's license
  • Trades certificate in instrumentation and/or electrical, a Technology Certificate or relevant experience in continuous process operations would be of benefit
  • Solid mechanical aptitude
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job:
    • Lift 25kg
    • Climb stairs and ladders
    • Work in tight and enclosed spaces
    • Be able to wear all required personal protective equipment
