  • Collaborate with suppliers on process improvements.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the Lean Manufacturing System.
  • Manage the site change control program.

Full Job Description
As a Plant Quality Manager, you will be responsible for the maintenance and control of the site level quality management system, quality testing and reporting system within the plant. This position reports to the Plant Manager and will work closely with division resources to ensure that divisional quality management system processes are implemented at the site level.

Salary Range: $87,000 - $102,900

What You'll Be Doing:

o Providing development and maintenance of the quality testing/reporting system. Responsible to develop, coordinate, support, train, assist, and facilitate within all attributes of the Quality Management System.

o Point of contact for all Customer issues, lead corrective actions, and ensure Sonoco is meeting all customer requirements.

o Responsible for maintaining compliance within the programs for fiber certification and food safety. Support all regulatory and sustainability requests as they relate to our customer base.

o Act a key customer interface to ensure continued customer satisfaction; lead efforts to address customer concerns ensuring long-term resolution; may include travel to customers, as required

o Develop/work with key suppliers on process improvements leading to enhanced service or product quality.

o Lead the continuous improvement program for the quality pillar inside our Lean Manufacturing System (SPS).

o Lead site change control program.

o Reduce variation within work processes to improve efficiency and product quality.

o Manage the specifications, test methods, instructions, and audit processes in conjunction with Divisional Quality resources.

o Ensure quality records are maintained.

o Develop best practices for each operation within the plant and trains across all shifts as required.

o Preferred qualifications: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt Certification; project management experience; statistical analysis expertise; exposure to regulatory compliance concepts.

o Required qualifications: Excellent verbal & written communications skills; strong presentation skills, proficiency in Word, Power, Point, Excel, statistical software.
