Responsibilities

  • Provide incident command support on shifts outside normal hours
  • Communicate operational priorities to shift teams
  • Assist teams in assessing resource requirements and resolving issues
  • Elevate operational issues to management post-assessment
  • Coordinate and prioritize maintenance activities during shifts
  • Document shift activities, including progress and issues
  • Lead incident investigations and support documentation
  • Provide performance feedback to team members and supervision
  • Attend daily production meetings as required
  • Assist with special projects and training-related activities

Full Job Description
Job Family Group:
Manufacturing Operations

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide on-shift production management to Charleston Plant work teams and monitor critical parameters to ensure teams are adhering to plan and meeting safety, environmental, and production goals during non-normal business hours.


  • On shift incident command coverage during non-normal business hours.


  • Communication and clarification of operational priorities to shift teams.


  • Assist shift teams with evaluating resource requirements.


  • Assist shift teams with problem assessment, process troubleshooting and problem resolution.


  • Elevation of emergent operational issues to on-call operations supervision once initial problem assessment and troubleshooting has been conducted.


  • Coordination/prioritization of shift maintenance activities.


  • Documentation of shift activities to report on progress, issues, and follow-up and still needed using the shift notes.


  • Incident investigation leadership as needed which includes initiating safety and environmental incident investigation in Dakota to include supporting documentation.


  • Provide performance feedback to shift/team and individuals and to department supervision.


  • Call out for additional resources as needed.


  • Daily production meeting attendance when able.


  • Special project assistance as assigned.


  • On day shifts, assist as assigned or needed with permit sign-offs, regulatory and MOC training follow-up, checklist and QMS audits, and other training-related support activities.


Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of Plant or manufacturing experience


  • Demonstrated commitment to safety


  • Strong knowledge of the plant areas and plant safe work practices


  • Desire to drive improvement in personnel, processes, and culture


  • Strong written and oral communication skills


  • Strong organizing and planning skills


  • Demonstrated thoroughness and attention to detail


  • Demonstrated strong technical and troubleshooting ability


  • Ability to train others and transfer knowledge


  • Ability to serve as a liaison between salaried and hourly personnel regarding operational issues


  • Computer skills: Working knowledge of or ability to learn MS Office, OpenText, SharePoint, SAP


  • Schedule driven by shift and operation needs


  • Will be assigned to a specific shift but may need to assist to cover or swap with another shift as needed
