Our Power & Energy Solutions team is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business, and we are looking to add an Operator position to primarily support our Crossfield Gas Storage facility located near Crossfield, Alberta.
Reporting to the Manager, Gas Storage Ops & PES Maintenance, the successful candidate will be competent in operating and/or repairing of equipment and systems without direct supervision. They can demonstrate enhanced communication, teamwork qualities and can lead trouble shooting activities. With a proven ability to recognize and avoid inappropriate risk, consider the consequences and impact before taking action, while utilizing TC Energy's operational policies, standards, procedures and practices.
The regular work schedule for this position is 12 hours days; 7 days on, 7 days off shift rotation.
What you'll do- Operation of plant (Injection & Withdraw)
- Operation of field wells (Injection & Withdraw)
- Operation of pipeline system (Injection & Withdraw)
- Permit to Work/JSA/Hot Work/Confined Space/Elevated Work Permitting
- Field Level Hazard Assessment creation/review
- Contractor qualifications verification
- LOTO creation/implementation
- Alberta One-Call inspections
- Training/mentoring of junior operators
- Crossing agreement review for Crossfield Gas Storage
- Scheduling of maintenance contractors
- Manage pipeline hydrates and hydrate mitigation
- Complete monthly PM tasks
- Support engineering and maintenance groups as required
- Accountable for safety of all employees and contractors
- Trouble-shoot plant operational upsets and resolve in timely manner
- Lead/Participate in ERP Exercises
- Report flaring when required to AER and TC Energy Management
- Supervise third party ground disturbance in proximity to TC Energy Gas Storage facilities
- Daily communication with TC Energy Gas Storage marketing team
- Schedule and coordinate truckers as required (Produced liquids to disposal, filling of potable water tank, pressure truck for chemical injection)
- Completion of tasks and assignments in a safe and environmentally responsible manner including ensuring proper handling and disposition of hazardous waste is required
Minimum Qualifications- Forth Class Power Engineering certification
- 5 years' experience in a large, integrated plant site and/or operating facility
- Experience with plant control systems such as PLC and DCS's
- Experience with the interpretation of technical reference documents
- Excellent communication, analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Current with technological advances in the gas industry
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with hydrocarbon dew point control systems, electric driven reciprocating compressors
- Computerized Maintenance Management System and SAP experience
This position requires candidates to:
- Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract (record) for review
- Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing
- Travel to and from sites to support facilities during outages and as required - this varies year to year based on planned outages (travel approximately 25% per year of up to 10 - 20 days at a time)
- Be part of an on-call rotation and provide emergency support as required
- Have the capability and flexibility to respond to time pressure by adjusting work hours to meet critical deadlines
