Full Job Description
The Plant Operations Manager is responsible to provide leadership and management to multiple functional areas within a manufacturing plant, which may include scheduling, logistics, quality, materials, workforce administration, and facilities. This position will work proactively with plant management and production managers to ensure a high level of plant performance, provide quality and timely delivery to Homebuilding operations, and identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities. The Plant Operations Manager will align resources and performance of the functional areas and lead, coach, and develop a team of supervisors and/or individual contributors within the facility.

This role is located in our Haines City Florida plant.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage daily operations of supervisors and/or administrative employees in multiple functional areas of a Manufacturing plant:

o Scheduling - Capacity planning, production schedules, Homebuilding requests, schedule changes, package billing

o Logistics - Delivery schedules, performance, and cost, 3rd party hauler management, trailer management, inclement weather

o Quality - Internal and external quality program, quality calibrations and audits, Homebuilding visits and issue resolution

o Workforce Administration - Recruiting, HR Administration, Accounts Payable
  • Ensure alignment, coordination, and cross training between the functional areas. Partner with leadership in production, other functional areas, and centralized operations to coordinate, align execution, and meet or exceed shared goals.
  • Provide leadership to the plant Issue Resolution functions and oversee the execution and coordination of miscellaneous orders, site delivery reports, material returns, etc., with the plant and Homebuilding operations.
  • Review, analyze, and interpret data to evaluate performance, identify and lead improvements, and monitor and provide recommendations on key metrics within areas of accountability.
  • Manage spending in plant accounts relating to areas of responsibility and identify and implement opportunities for cost savings.
  • Provide support, communication, problem-solving, and expertise to Homebuilding Operations and cultivate and maintain strong relationships with Production Managers and other field personnel.
  • Resolve escalated issues from Homebuilding, vendors, employees, and other NVR departments; communicate and document resolutions.
  • Engage cross-functionally with leaders in Homebuilding, Architectural Services (ASD), Procurement, and Manufacturing to proactively identify and address issues and ensure strategic alignment and execution.
  • Develop a high-performing team through selection, onboarding, coaching, training, and development. Evaluate department staffing and training needs and make recommendations on team staffing decisions to manufacturing management.
  • Manage team participation in any manufacturing systems testing or pilot software and lead communication with IT and other partners.
  • Participate in or lead plant and broader manufacturing projects, initiatives and prototypes. Manage team member contributions as appropriate.
  • Support new plant expansions through guidance, sharing of best practices, and training, as needed.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership and management experience(Manufacturing experience strongly preferred)
  • Experience with Lean and continuous improvement preferred
  • Excellent problem-analysis, critical thinking, and strategic planning abilities
  • Experience communicating effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Outstanding collaboration and conflict management abilities
