  • Coordinate shipping priorities and finished goods readiness in collaboration with customer service and supply chain.
  • Ensure product specifications are met by partnering with quality on containment and corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across fabrication and machining areas using methodologies like 5S and standard work.

Job Title: Plant Manager
Location: Mattoon, IL
Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $180,000.00 - $190,000.00
Work Model: Onsite - onsite

Responsibilities

  • Own site safety performance: eliminate hazards, strengthen near-miss reporting, and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA and applicable local regulations, required training, PPE standards, and audit readiness.
  • Lead incident investigations and drive implementation of lasting countermeasures.
  • Deliver daily and weekly production plan attainment, maintaining schedule stability with rapid escalation of issues.
  • Manage labor and staffing plans (shift coverage, overtime, cross-training) to hit output and service-level targets.
  • Coordinate shipping priorities and finished goods readiness with customer service and supply chain functions.
  • Ensure product conformance to specifications; partner with quality on containment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Reduce scrap and rework through process controls, mistake-proofing, training, and layered process audits.
  • Partner with maintenance to drive preventive maintenance compliance, uptime, and reliability improvements (TPM where applicable).
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives (5S, standard work, setup reduction, flow improvements) across fabrication and machining areas.
  • Apply data-driven problem solving (A3, 5-Why) to improve throughput, OEE, and constraint performance.
  • Build and execute operational plans to achieve budget targets.
  • Own controllable cost drivers (labor, overtime, scrap/rework, supplies) to hit annual operating plan targets.
  • Identify and justify capital, tooling, and automation investments with strong ROI.
  • Key Interfaces: Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, EHS.
  • Key Performance Indicators: Safety, Delivery, Quality, Productivity, Cost, People metrics.


Requirements
