Job Title: Plant Manager Department:Effective Date:

Reports To: Director of Packaging Operations Working Conditions: FLSA: Exempt

Position is not routinely exposed

to adverse environmental conditions.

Typical office environment.

Direct Reports: Site Department Managers

Position Summary:

Manage all aspects of operations at the site including production, warehouse, date integrity, customer relations, quality, technical, sanitation, food safety, asset utilization, and security.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  1. Directs department management to achieve prescribed operational objectives and ensures timelines are met with the highest regard for quality, safety, housekeeping, inventory control and customer satisfaction.
  2. Establishes Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for all department functions to ensure the consistent application of principles by associates.
  3. Renew and approve controllable costs in accordance with budgeted parameters for the department, and reviews the monthly P&L for variances from budget.
  4. Participates in budget preparation and revenue/account analyses and ensures the accurate preparation and timely distribution of reports to the leadership team on a timely basis.
  5. Develops and maintains a productive work team through proper application of management skills in the hiring, coaching, training, and disciplinary action processes.
  6. Tracks and provides appropriate disciplinary action and motivational techniques to employees on a timely basis.
  7. Develops, implements and directs programs and training to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment and property and enforces safety rules and guidelines.
  8. Enforces and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and federal, state and local regulations.
  9. Establishes and maintains a professional and courteous relationship with all customers.
  10. Assists in ensuring the security of the facility and its employees, contents and surroundings.
  11. Implements continuous improvements in processes.
  12. Assist in the movement of the workforce


Marginal Functions:

  1. Visits customer sites as needed to ensure overall customer satisfaction.
  2. Represents the company at business and industry events as needed.


Job Specifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent work related experience preferred.

2. Minimum of 8 years prior experience in a production, warehouse, logistics environment.

3. Minimum of 5 years prior supervisory experience with emphasis on leadership, supervision, motivation, communication and planning.

4. Minimum of 3 years prior experience in P&L reviews

5. Broad knowledge of manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics operations.

6. Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Office and software applications

7. Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.

8. Ability to prioritize, organize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

9. Ability to work efficiently with a professional, customer friendly attitude.
