Position Description:Lead launch and day-to-day operations of new prefabrication facility ("plant"), designed to support construction projects with offsite-manufactured components. Develop and oversee critical plant's stability and ongoing performance, establish safety protocols, build a high-performing team culture, manage operational systems, and ensure efficient production of high-quality outputs.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead establishment of prefabrication facility ("plant") safety culture from day one, model safe work practices and create zero-incident environment.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies, site-specific training programs, emergency response plans, and risk assessments.
  • Conduct regular audits and take immediate corrective action for unsafe plant conditions to promote compliance with OSHA regulations and internal safety standards.
  • Manage daily operations across fabrication, assembly, logistics, and material handling with emphasis on safety, quality, and throughput.
  • Develop and execute production schedules in alignment with project demand and just-in-time delivery models.
  • Track and report on operational performance metrics (e.g., safety, quality, productivity, cost) and use data to drive continuous improvements.
  • Recruit and onboard plant staff, foster and develop a team of skilled, safety-conscious operators, technicians, and supervisors.
  • Build and sustain high trust and high-performance team culture centered on ownership, respect, and open communication.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to team for developing skills in continuous improvement, problem-solving, and. embed lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, standardized work, visual management) into daily operations.
  • Design and implement Quality Assurance (QA) processes to validate outputs meet design specifications, tolerances, and code requirements.
  • Lead kaizen events and implement lessons learned to refine and stabilize production processes.
  • Integrate plant operations with project management and supply chain functions, and leverage digital tools (e.g., BIM, ERP/MRP systems, tracking dashboards).
  • Stay informed on trends in construction technology and prefabrication, assessing innovations to enhance operational efficiency and capabilities.
  • Manage operating budgets, labor forecasting, material procurement strategies, and plant capacity modeling.
  • Partner with Finance and planning teams to forecast costs, Return on Investment (ROI), and scale needs as plant matures.
  • Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Construction Management, or related field of study, with minimum of 8 years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in construction or prefabrication sector, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
  • Leadership experience managing plant operations, including team development, safety compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and Quality Assurance (QA) systems
  • Knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA) and quality standards in manufacturing environments
  • Experience with digital tools (BIM, ERP/MRP systems) and prefabrication technologies
  • Strong leadership skills to drive high-performance culture, coach teams, and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to manage production schedules, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and drive cost-effective solutions
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and address challenges, risks, and opportunities with focus on operational efficiency
  • Ability to maintain detailed records and generate operational and financial reports
  • Advanced project management skills, highly organized, and able to manageconcurrentcomplex projects and tasks successfully to completion for self and others
