Plant Manager (Site Manager)

Location: Grand Prairie, TX

Client Site: Frito-Lay Dedicated Facility

Position Overview

The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and performance of the facility, with a primary focus on Safety, Quality, and Production. This role drives operational excellence, ensures customer satisfaction, and builds a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Plant Manager leads a team of direct reports responsible for managing all day-to-day operations within a fast-paced, customer-dedicated environment.
Key Responsibilities

Operations Leadership
  • Lead all aspects of plant operations to achieve performance goals in safety, quality, and production
  • Oversee daily operations across multiple shifts in a high-volume environment
  • Ensure efficient execution of production plans, scheduling, and inventory control

Safety & Quality
  • Own and enforce all safety, food safety, and quality programs (OSHA, SQF, AIB, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and customer requirements
  • Drive a culture where safety and quality are the top priorities

Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of managers and supervisors
  • Oversee a workforce of ~300 employees, including full-time and temporary staff
  • Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
  • Conduct performance reviews and support professional development

Customer & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the customer (Frito-Lay)
  • Communicate performance metrics related to quality, service, and production
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure high levels of satisfaction

Continuous Improvement
  • Champion Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase throughput
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for operational issues
  • Identify and implement process improvements across the facility

Financial & Operational Management
  • Manage facility performance to meet budget and cost targets
  • Optimize labor utilization, including temporary workforce planning
  • Oversee systems including WMS, quality systems, and maintenance programs
  • Ensure effective use and maintenance of all facility assets
Qualifications
  • 7-10+ years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role
  • Proven success managing large, multi-shift operations
  • Strong background in safety, quality, and production management
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Demand planning, forecasting, and scheduling
    • Safety programs (OSHA, Workers' Compensation)
    • Quality systems (RCA, CAPA, SQF, AIB, ISO)
  • Experience managing customer relationships in a dedicated or contract manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with temporary labor models
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with WMS, Microsoft Office, and operational systems
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  • Ability to work flexible hours in a multi-shift operation
