Location: Houston, TX
Salary Range: $156,000 to $206,000

*This position is eligible for the Operations Bonus Plan.

ABOUT THE ROLEThe Plant Manager is a senior operations leader responsible for the overall performance of manufacturing and assembly operations, including production, quality, safety, maintenance, and financial results. This role translates corporate strategy into effective plant-level execution, ensuring electrical components and systems are assembled efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with customer specifications and regulatory requirements.

The Plant Manager directs and coordinates all aspects of plant operations, including production scheduling, materials management, equipment reliability, and workforce planning. They lead and develop a team of supervisors, managers, and assembly personnel to achieve key performance indicators related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This role is accountable for driving a culture of continuous improvement through lean manufacturing principles, optimizing processes to eliminate waste, improving first-pass yield, and enhance on-time delivery performance.

In partnership with corporate leadership, the Plant Manager supports Modular operations, contributes to strategic planning, and ensures alignment with long-term business objectives, including capacity expansion, technology adoption, and cost optimization.

Production & Operational Oversight
  • Develop and execute production schedules to meet customer demand, project timelines, and inventory targets.
  • Monitor and optimize assembly line performance by identifying bottlenecks and implementing data-driven process improvements.
  • Ensure equipment reliability through effective preventive maintenance programs and timely resolution of mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
  • Oversee daily plant operations to ensure efficient workflow, resource utilization, and adherence to production goals.


Quality & Compliance
  • Enforce quality management standards (e.g., ISO, Six Sigma) to ensure all electrical assemblies meet technical specifications and customer requirements.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production defects, non-conformances, and customer quality issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including OSHA and EPA standards.
  • Promote a culture of quality ownership and continuous improvement across all levels of the organization.

Team Leadership & Development
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing workforce, including supervisors, managers, and assembly personnel.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance management to drive accountability and professional growth.
  • Manage workforce planning, labor utilization, and scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage across all shifts.
  • Foster a positive, engaged work environment by addressing employee concerns and promoting open communication.


Financial & Strategic Planning
  • Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets; monitor financial performance against established targets.
  • Partner with corporate leadership to support strategic initiatives, including capacity planning, expansion, and technology implementation.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction and efficiency improvement opportunities using lean manufacturing principles.
  • Align plant objectives with broader organizational goals to drive sustainable growth and operational excellence.


ABOUT YOU
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and assembly operations, including production scheduling, workflow optimization, and materials management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in a multi-shift production environment.
  • Expertise in quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., ISO standards, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma).
  • Working knowledge of safety and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA) and ability to enforce compliance.
  • Proven ability to analyze operational data, identify inefficiencies, and implement effective, data-driven solutions.
  • Financial acumen, including experience managing operating and capital budgets and driving cost control initiatives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSAny combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, or a related field.

Licensure/Certifications: Licensed electrician, IBEW Journeyman or Master Electrician helpful.

Experience: 7-10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing or assembly operations, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role (e.g., Production Manager, Operations Manager, or Plant Manager).
