SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of the Plant Manager will be to lead all operations and fabrication of Lakeside's product in the areas of safety, quality, production, people, process, and document control. This position will achieve key performance metrics and be responsible for achieving financial targets. The Plant Manager directs manufacturing operations through a team ensuring customer and employee satisfaction while improving efficiencies of people, materials, and equipment. direct individual development and performance efforts, uphold organizational policies and procedures, and drive continuous improvement efforts within the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists in setting and responsible for executing goals, objectives and guidelines covering all phases of plant operations and staff activities to maintain an efficient, functional, operational and profitable plant.
  • Directs, guides and motivates immediate team member in attainment of projected goals and objectives to increase operational efficiency.
  • Establishes and enforces procedures and controls within the plant to attain projected goals and objectives.
  • Support and promotes Company policies to establish support and organization within the plant.
  • Makes all decisions and approvals to exercise control over vital elements of the plant operations and formulates such decisions based on Company policy and other pertinent data.
  • Plans and forecasts plant requirements with respect to equipment, manpower, materials and facilities to establish budgets for labor and materials.
  • Manages execution of KPIs for on time installation, shop throughput (sqft/hr), first time yield, scrap % and schedule adherence.
  • Participates in customer relations by engaging with them to promote a sound relationship and to act as liaison between them and the plant to solve problems.
  • Recommends acquisition of capital equipment to update current capital, to increase plant efficiency, and to compensate for design and product changes.
  • Reviews the job performance of team to ensure that training and development is implemented for sustained or improved performance.
  • With safety at the forefront of daily responsibilities, report accidents, HSE emergencies, and inform team of known HSE conditions which could adversely affect the team.
  • Ensures compliance with all safety procedures and safe working procedures in assigned production areas.
  • Ensures safety alerts / awareness items are communicated throughout the organization.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • 7+ years of operations experience demonstrating leadership and vision in managing staff, groups and major projects or initiatives
  • Excellent, demonstrated communication and leadership skills, to include relationship building and issue resolution
  • "Change Agent", with a demonstrated ability for driving innovative solutions and ideas
  • Experience leading continuous improvement processes in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience driving business results in the areas of Employee Safety, Product Quality, Customer Service and Cost
  • Experience developing and executing operating budgets and capital plans
  • Experience leading the development and successful implementation of complex projects in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated success fostering growth and development of employees and teams
  • Highly motivated, results oriented, driven to pursue excellence in all areas of responsibility

PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Business Administration or Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience in stone countertop industry
  • CounterGo & Moraware knowledge

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Able be on the production floor.
  • Able to access and maintain centralized departmental files
  • Significant amount of time regularly spent answering and speaking on the telephone and corresponding via email to individuals internally and externally
  • Database entry via computer keyboard that requires repetitive hand and wrist movements
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance and up to 60 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to follow safety requirements
