SUMMARY

  • Direct and manage all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production, warehouse/shipping, employee safety, maintenance, quality and other production-related activities.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct and manage plant operations for production, employee safety, maintenance, quality and shipping and receiving.
  • Coordinate plant activities through planning with departmental managers to insure that all manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Develops, coordinates and directs all efforts to promote safety throughout the organization
  • Develop and control budget, through active planning and understanding of the plant P&L
  • Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries.
  • Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
  • Controls and minimizes labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses.
  • Maintains existing plant facilities and equipment; replace or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary.
  • Investigates and recommend new equipment or process improvements
  • Provides leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
  • Implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs.
  • Incorporates shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
  • Provides direction, development and leadership to all supervision.
  • Onsite contact for government agencies, landlords and various other vendors
  • Actively participate with Regional Sales Management to develop and manage the Regional Operating Unit into a team oriented environment.


SAFETY

  • Wears all required PPE while in the manufacturing facility
  • Monitors the activities of all employees and provides feedback and discipline to promote a safe workplace
  • Oversees the development and organization of all safety related documentation
  • Insures that all required safety related training is conducted
  • Develops and implements employee programs to promote safe employee behavior
  • Audits equipment and the shop floor for safety related improvements


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise all plant management and personnel.

  • Mechanically Inclined.
  • Problem Solver.
  • Team Oriented.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or five years plant/general management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure with managing union and non-union environments
  • Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.
  • Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures required.
  • Basic computer experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • The military equivalent will be recognized in lieu of education and/or experience.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Basic mathematical skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication and converting fractions into decimals.
  • Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer and caliper accurately.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Manufacturing facility-exposed to heat and cold
  • Personal Protective Equipment required at all times
  • Controlled Noise exposure
  • Activity level is high-continuous movement
