Job DescriptionPosition Overview:This position directs the day-to-day and strategic activities of a highly complex, large plant to achieve financial and operating objectives as determined by ARP and the Business Unit. The Plant Manager is a key leadership role which manages all plant operations with overall responsibilities for safety, production, maintenance, warehouse, quality, customer relations, human resources, and finance. This position serves as the senior ARP representative locally and is responsible for compliance with the Amcor code of conduct and for ensuring plant compliance with all regulations (federal and local), as well as other Amcor and ARP policies and procedures.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Leadership - Organize activities and identify resources required in order to achieve Plant, Business Unit and overall company goals and objectives. Practice and implement Six Sigma. Production- Overall plant operation at standard cost while producing quality ware, on time and within customer specifications in order to maintain and grow market share. Financial- Control operating expense in order to achieve low variances within target to actual cost comparisons while identifying and justifying capital expenditures. Quality- Manage the raw materials and process in order to meet customer requirements and produce product efficiency. ISO 9000/2000 Business Planning- Develop and manage a business plan that incorporates ISO, FDA, other government regulations, financial, and identify areas for continuous improvement in all aspects of the operation in order in order to set and maintain goals and objectives. EHS- Insure plant is free of hazards to employees in order to avoid accidents and provide a safe work environment in compliance with local, state and federal regulations. ISO 18000, ISO 14000 Employee Relations- Communicate effectively plant performance, training objectives, quality concerns, labor needs and production process changes in order to maintain morale and demonstrate concern for employee's needs.
Manages team of direct reports and is responsible for employee selection, development, mentoring and performance management. Responsible for overall talent management and employee engagement; cultivates an environment of safety, high performance, and ethical and legal compliance. Addresses employee relations issues.
Managerial Responsibilities- Manage the departmental managers who in turn supervise department personnel of the facility. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the facility.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
- Responsibilities also include interviewing, addressing complaints, problem solving, and coordination of the financial and political responsibilities of the plant.
Qualifications:Education, Skills & Experience:- Bachelor's degree or equivalent (Material Science, Engineering or Packaging preferred)
- Ten or more years related experience or the combined equivalent.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, and business correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond in group environments.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics inference, and fundamentals of geometry, trigonometry, and statistics
