Job Duties:- This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including fully supporting, accurately completing, and maintaining all company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures, and documentation as required. .
- The Plant Manager is ultimately accountable and responsible for site safety including employees, contractors, visitors and neighbors.
- Other essential tasks include meeting and advancing company safety standards, demonstrating strong safety leadership and commitment and implementing and maintaining the training matrix and Airgas University training for the site.
- The individual in this role will guide the stewardship of Key Operating Documents, maintain updated red-lines at all times, and display a detailed understanding of content and significance of each document. In addition to this, the job requires making plant and process decisions, performing process troubleshooting, establishing clear delegation of this authority to trained team members, fostering positive customer and intercompany department relationships, delivering the quality and quantity of product required by the business and executing predictive and preventive maintenance to ensure long-term reliability and safety and minimize unplanned maintenance.
- Furthermore, the role includes developing annual maintenance plans and turn-around planning as needed and collaborates with the team to maintain high housekeeping standards to exemplify and improve the company image.
- The individual in this role is expected to operate the facility in compliance with all local and federal governmental regulations Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), etc.) and company policies.
- This role also includes maintaining and complying with all necessary licenses and permits, providing all regulatory training and maintaining documentation, reporting and investigating all incidents and ensuring corrective actions are complete.
- Other key duties include keeping plant hazard analysis current and displaying thorough knowledge of possible hazards and associated safeguards as well as adhering to Management of Change procedure. This role also ensures that all performance evaluations, hiring, promotions and assignments are free of any form of discrimination; Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
- This role includes a commitment to consistent commitment to company policies, safety guidelines, and procedural standards, as well a focus on modeling exemplary safety behavior, leading by personal example, working to achieve "Zero Accidents" by fostering a collaborative culture in safety, implementing and ensuring compliance to the Qualification and Training program for Production Technicians.
- This role is expected to conduct an annual performance review with each employee, implement individual development plans annually and provide training and coaching to improve performance, provide thoughtful and collaborative input to management decisions and actively support those decisions as well as adhering to administrative and operational policies and procedures.
- This role requires the understanding, monitoring and optimizing of operating costs within an authorized budget and the ability to identify and implement opportunities to reduce costs within delegated authorization. Additionally, the position involves participation in the Capital Planning Process and the Yearly Expense Budgeting Process.
- In addition to this, the job requires the control of overtime within established limits and continuously improving efficiency and availability indicators and utilizing national purchasing agreements and frame agreements.
Are you a MATCH?Required Qualifications:- Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
- Minimum of 6 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a process industry.
- Technical and working understanding of the Air Separation or Carbon Dioxide liquefaction plant process or applicable process plant industry experience.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants, including Process Safety Management, OSHA regulations, EPA regulations, EEOC guidelines, FDA regulations (where applicable), state and local requirements.
- Strong computer and business application skills.
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting plant machinery, including hands-on familiarity with valves and rotating equipment.
- Ability to deliver and explain training material to operating personnel.
- Extremely organized and effective at time management - able to establish and maintain a plant filing system and control of engineering documents. Ability to read and red-line key operating documents.
- Working knowledge of commercial agreements and Airgas customer relations.
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
- General understanding of accounting principles and working knowledge of plant operating budget.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:- Chemical industry experience is preferred.
Physical Demands: - Ability to work extended hours as business needs dictate.
- Minimal travel required - typically 1 to 6 trips per year.
Work Environment:- Job requires visitation to various Airgas and customer sites, which have varying environments/conditions, layouts, and accessibility.
