Job Description

The Plant Manager provides strategic leadership, operational direction, and resource stewardship for a high-volume manufacturing facility in Streetsboro, Ohio. Part of the Windows & Doors Business Unit, the facility employs approximately 300 employees and produces vinyl windows and doors.

This role is accountable for driving sustainable improvements across the operation while delivering strong performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people leadership. The Plant Manager will lead the execution of cross-functional strategies aligned with the company's manufacturing excellence roadmap, balancing long-term strategic priorities with decisive near-term actions.

This position reports to the Director of Operations.

KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations Leadership
  • Establish a respectful, inclusive, and accountable environment across all levels of the organization.

  • Develop and execute site strategies to reduce COGS while supporting growth and expansion.
  • Deliver year-over-year cost improvements across direct labor and overhead.
  • Lead successful implementation, piloting, and commercialization of new products.

Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Own safety and security across the site, including employees, products, and company assets; proactively identify and address risks.
  • Optimize production schedules to balance efficiency, customer demand, and employee well-being, including strategic use of overtime.
  • Drive quality performance through strong adherence to quality standards, QA Index, and Right First Time metrics.
  • Lead and support Total Quality Management (TQM) initiatives across the site.

Operational Excellence
  • Champion the company's manufacturing excellence roadmap and hold the organization accountable for performance and leadership commitments.
  • Embed Lean principles and employee engagement into daily operations, focusing on improving processes rather than individuals.
  • Drive simplification and continuous improvement initiatives that improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
  • Lead implementation of new equipment, including establishing project teams and ensuring effective Commissioning, Qualification, and Verification (CQV) processes.

Talent & Organization
  • Build a strong talent pipeline and align training and development with the capabilities and skills needed for the future.
  • Provide clear direction and leadership across all operations functions.
  • Develop frontline leaders, technical talent, and the broader leadership team.
  • Use data-driven approaches to forecast labor needs, workforce mix, and future capacity requirements.

Culture & Engagement
  • Foster a high-performance culture aligned with the company's mission, values, and leadership expectations.
  • Build strong community partnerships to promote manufacturing careers, develop future talent, and strengthen the company's reputation.
  • Use employee engagement data to identify opportunities and implement meaningful improvements to the employee experience.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Engineering, Business, or a related field. In lieu of a degree, 12-15 years of significant, relevant professional experience may be considered.
  • 8+ years of progressive manufacturing experience, including exposure to assembly, process engineering, warehousing, and/or packaging operations.
  • 4+ years of people leadership experience, including leading cross-functional or multidisciplinary leadership teams.
  • Demonstrated success applying Lean principles, tools, and systems to drive sustainable continuous improvement.
  • Experience leading teams through the compliant execution of established management systems and processes.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence decision-making, and manage operational and financial performance metrics.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and supply chain functions, including production planning, logistics, quality, materials management, and inventory control.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% as needed.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD and statistical analysis tools preferred.
