Full Job Description
Essential Functions:

  • Plans, directs and coordinates the assembly of automotive OE glass products to meet present and future customer requirements with reduced cost, high yields, quality and increased efficiency.
  • Sets and monitors Plant production, quality and cost goals consistent with Group goals.
  • Continually develops new and improved production methods, processes and equipment to increase profits and yields.
  • Continually develops direct reports and sets expectation for them to in turn develop their teams.
  • Administers all financial support functions to ensure respective operations are maintained at appropriate levels.
  • Coordinates all service elements to provide continuing and effective maintenance of Plant and equipment.
  • Plans, develops and recommends operating budgets as guides to cost control, capital planning and expenses, and ensures compliance with approved budgets. Responsible for Plant P&L.
  • Ensures that communication within the Assembly Plant is effective and that all employees clearly understand Pilkington Automotive company objectives.
  • Ensure Department Managers understand and drive for budgeted performance in all areas.
  • Develop systems whereby excellent interpersonal relationships and communication are maintained both within and outside the plant.
  • Communicates effectively and consistently to the workforce. Maintains effective team member relations to assure continuous production; resolves complaints / issues quickly, consistently, and fairly to foster a team environment.
  • Selects, trains, and develops a competent organization to maintain an efficient and effective operation.
  • Reviews schedules, coordinates and directs all manufacturing activities to meet requirements and specifications.
  • On call at all times for operational activities.
  • As requested, liaises with other plants in regard to manufacturing methods, operations and quality reviews.

Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering discipline or related field

  • Assembly or relevant manufacturing experience

  • A minimum of 8 years middle/senior management manufacturing experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and emotional intelligence capabilities
  • Innovative and strategic thinker
  • Demonstrated abilities in developing Plant Staff, production scheduling, inventory management, and manufacturing processes

  • Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements


Qualifications Desired:

  • Education: MBA or Master's degree in a Manufacturing discipline
  • Experience: Tier 1 or Tier 2 automotive supplier experience
  • Six Sigma Blackbelt certification
  • Lean Manufacturing Certification
