Job Summary

The Plant Maintenance Supervisor, Material Recovery Facility (MRF) plans, directs and controls the efforts of the Maintenance Department to maintain plant equipment and facilities commensurate with good engineering practices.

This role is located at our new Material Recovery Facility (MRF) near Napanee, ON (2332 Lennox & Addington County Rd 41, Roblin)

Schedule: Works a regular 7:00am - 4:00pm Monday to Friday with occasional weekends.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages the preventive maintenance program and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
  • Develops, maintains and administers an organization qualified to maintain all equipment and facilities in a safe and efficient working condition. Executes an effective preventive maintenance program to minimize unscheduled down time.
  • Maintains all operating equipment in satisfactory condition. Schedules needed repair to have minimum interference.
  • Consults with other departments regarding desirable modifications of existing equipment and facilities and the possible replacement of existing equipment which will improve operations and reduce maintenance costs.
  • May coordinates the efficient operation of facilities with project engineers.
  • Coordinates and oversees the efficient maintenance of all plant transportation equipment.
  • Analyzes cost studies equipment in the department designed to secure reduced operating costs. Makes recommendations thereon to the Plant Manager.
  • Develops objectives and standards of performance for projects within the Maintenance Department required to meet departmental, divisional and corporate goals and objectives.
  • Plans and provides for an adequate supply and ensures control over spare parts and maintenance supplies.
    • Provides leadership, technical guidance and maintenance training to MRF Maintenance Technicians, including hands-on troubleshooting support during complex equipment breakdowns and recurring failures.
    • Ensures preventive inspections and corrective repairs meet or exceed company standards, including identification of root causes and implementation of corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
    • Utilizes the CMMS to plan, prioritize, document and track preventive and corrective maintenance activities, while coordinating maintenance priorities and equipment status with Operations.
    • Provides safety leadership for maintenance activities and ensures compliance with applicable LOTO and safe work procedures.
    • Works a regular 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM schedule to support effective shift handoffs and maintenance coverage, with flexibility to support other shifts and operational needs as required.


Qualifications

A. Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. (accredited)
  • 4 years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement)


B. Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience supervising and providing technical leadership to a team of maintenance technicians in an industrial/corporate environment; experience supervising in a unionized environment preferred.
    • Experience with industrial material-handling and production equipment, including conveyors, screens, balers, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, motors, gearboxes, bearings and related rotating equipment preferred.
    • Experience with CMMS-based maintenance management, preventive/predictive maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, root cause analysis and reliability improvement preferred

Pay: The expected base pay range for this on-site position in Napanee is $80,000.00 - $85,000.00. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for bonus. This position is not for an existing vacancy
