Job Description

As the Plant HR Manager, you'll serve as the human resources leader for a single manufacturing facility with fewer than 200 employees. This role is responsible for overseeing all HR functions across both manufacturing (hourly) and salaried/office employees.

As the first level of HR management within an operations environment, you'll partner closely with plant leadership to provide strategic HR guidance, drive change, and support business needs related to talent, culture, and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

Strategic Leadership & Culture
  • Act as a safety leader, ensuring safety is prioritized in all HR activities and decisions
  • Support WCOM initiatives and lead the Talent & Engagement (T&E) pillar
  • Promote and champion Amcor's health, wellness, and engagement initiatives
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and active member of the plant leadership team
  • Drive change leadership, consistency, and sustainability across HR initiatives
  • Contribute to the development of a world-class organization and the strengthening of Amcor culture


Employee Relations & Compliance
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns
  • Handle escalated employee relations matters with professionalism, fairness, and discretion
  • Conduct employee investigations and manage corrective action, discipline, and terminations
  • Act as the primary liaison between employees, management, and unions (if applicable)
  • Deliver union avoidance training and ensure compliance with labor and employment policies
  • Ensure delivery of required annual trainings (e.g., anti-harassment, core values, union avoidance)
  • Protect employee data and maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and integrity


Talent & Performance Management
  • Provide guidance to leaders on performance coaching, Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), Individual Development Plans (IDPs), and career development
  • Support workforce planning activities, including organizational design, talent reviews, promotions, succession planning, and salary planning
  • Ensure the facility is hiring, developing, and retaining top talent
  • Institutionalize the performance management process and support meaningful performance and reward differentiation


HR Operations & Projects
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry in Workday and maintain high standards of data integrity
  • Partner with leaders to understand and effectively apply HR systems and processes
  • Support and promote the HR Service Delivery Model, encouraging appropriate employee self-service
  • Manage and lead HR-related projects, including site-level and company-wide initiatives
  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) and Shared Services to ensure HR programs meet business needs
  • Successfully execute milestone targets aligned with the HR roadmap


Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
  • Network with internal and external HR professionals to share best practices
  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization across HR processes
  • Lead, inspire, and develop individuals in alignment with the overall Human Capital Strategy

Compensation
The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $98,000 to $122,500; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range $98,000 to $147,000 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location. Position may also be eligible for Amcor's Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.The salary range provided reflects the anticipated base pay for this role at the time of this posting. This range is applicable to positions performed in jurisdictions with pay transparency requirements, including CA, CO, CT, HI, IL, MD, MA, MN, NV, NJ, NY, RI, VT, WA, Washington DC, as well as remote roles that may be performed in these locations. Compensation for roles performed outside of these jurisdictions may vary. The Company reserves the right to modify this range at any time.
