About the Role:
As the Engineering Manager you will direct the project engineering and maintenance functions to maximize efficiency of plant operations while maintaining a safe working environment for all plant employees. This is an exciting opportunity to lead an entire function and CAPEX projects. You will monitor and analyze key performance indicators and daily production data, adjusting maintenance/engineering work plans and expenditures accordingly.
Responsibilities
- Ensure Engineering and Maintenance staff properly design/maintain/repair equipment while adhering to corporate quality and safety standards
- Prepare annual Engineering and Maintenance budget, schedule expenditures, analyze variances and initiate corrective actions as needed
- Pursue technologies to improve safety, product quality, plant profitability, operating efficiencies, etc.
- Direct activities of the Maintenance Supervisors. Monitor and manage the Plant's performance from a maintenance perspective and re-direct Maintenance efforts as needed or assign Engineering assistance when required
- Ensure that the Maintenance and Engineering Department is properly organized, staffed and equipped to support the operation of the plant on a 24 hour/day basis
- Ensure that ISO procedures for the Maintenance and Engineering Department are implemented and properly documented
- Act as the liaison with Corporate Engineering, R&D and Corporate Process Development
- Ensure ongoing development and upgrading of skills within the department through the scheduling of Vendor training sessions, specialized classes, seminars, etc. to develop the most capable Engineers, Supervisors and Craftspersons possible
- Drive the highest level of employee retention and engagement to ensure a sustainable workforce.

Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other technical field required
Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years in a manufacturing environment; and
- Minimum of five (5) years of management experience
