SummaryThe Plant Controller oversees all plant-level financial operations, including cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. This role partners closely with Plant Management to analyze and optimize manufacturing processes, identify cost-reduction opportunities, and enhance overall profitability.
The Plant Controller ensures the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of financial results and safeguards plant assets for a multi-line manufacturing and warehousing facility with significant operational complexity. This role is a key member of the Plant Management team and provides timely, comprehensive financial leadership.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Lead forecasting and budget planning
- Conduct capital expenditure analysis and reporting
- Perform accurate cost analysis and variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate policies
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to maximize financial performance
- Partner with Plant Management to set annual standards and production yields
- Provide financial guidance and proactive communication on accounting issues
- Support capital expenditure requests and perform post-project audits
- Maintain effective inventory and operating expense management
- Collaborate with Corporate Finance to ensure consistent financial practices
- Support internal and external audits
- Manage weekly/monthly/quarterly flash forecasts
- Identify risks and opportunities
- Lead development of the annual operating plan
- Recommend process improvements to enhance financial performance
- Analyze financial data to support decision-making
Education & Experience- B.S./B.A. in Accounting
- 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong manufacturing cost accounting and plant controlling experience
- Prior Senior Cost Accounting/Plant Cost Accounting experience preferred
- ERP system experience required
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Strong knowledge of warehouse/manufacturing cost accounting and controls
- Prior in-plant manufacturing industry experience required.

- Occasional plant-floor presence with exposure to machinery
- May require moving materials up to 50 lbs (adjust if not applicable)

Work Environment- Exposure to moving mechanical parts
- Indoor manufacturing environment with potential heat exposure
