About the position

We are seeking an experienced Plant Controller to provide strategic financial leadership for our manufacturing operations in Willis, Texas, and Shawinigan, Canada. As a trusted business partner to the Plant Manager and DCS Business Area leadership, you will play a key role in driving financial performance, supporting operational excellence, and influencing business decisions across two manufacturing facilities. This highly visible position offers the opportunity to lead financial planning, strengthen internal controls, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic, international manufacturing environment. Our Plant Controller reports to the DSC Finance Director and is dotted-line to the site Plant Manager. Responsibilities

  • Lead all plant controlling activities for the Willis, Texas, and Shawinigan, Canada, manufacturing facilities, including month-end close, HYPKA reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Partner with the Plant Manager and business leaders to provide financial analysis, strategic recommendations, and decision support that drive operational performance and profitability.
  • Oversee manufacturing finance activities, including standard costing, inventory control, CAPEX, fixed assets, and cost improvement initiatives.
  • Manage tariff-related cost tracking, customer surcharge invoices, and support accounts receivable activities to ensure accurate cost recovery and improve working capital.
  • Strengthen internal controls, support financial audits, ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, and lead initiatives that improve financial processes, reporting, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with Sales and Shared Services to resolve customer invoicing issues. Monitor accounts receivable activities for Willis's customers and support working capital improvement initiatives.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in manufacturing finance, plant controlling, or cost accounting.
  • Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, financial reporting, and business analysis.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting, standard costing, inventory control, and financial planning.
  • Experience partnering with plant leadership to drive business performance.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial analysis skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence decision-making across all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Multi-site manufacturing finance experience.
  • SAP ERP experience.
  • Hyperion/HYPKA financial reporting experience.
  • Experience with CAPEX management and fixed asset accounting.
  • CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
