Full Job Description
JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for providing guidance and support for accounting and accounting systems functions, including financial reporting for our locations in Indiana and Michigan.

Responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for maintaining the general ledger and month-end close process
  • Managing month end close of financial statements
  • Prepare forecasts and projections
  • Perform various financial analysis of monthly operations, budget verses actual, customer and product profitability
  • Establishing and maintain accounting policies
  • Establish, manage and enforce all accounting reconciliations.
  • Ensure internal controls are maintained and make suggestions for improving processes and procedures
  • Owner of inventory including approving of ordering, min/max levels, count, valuation and reserve analysis.
  • Closing jobs
  • Review job performance weekly with the operations team, provide insights to corporate team
  • Review rates and standard costs.
  • Work directly with Vice President of Accounting on operational efficiency and strategy on a regular basis
  • Documenting all accounting processes and procedures as assigned.


PRINCIPAL CONTACTS INSIDE/OUTSIDE THE COMPANY

This position interacts with the Corporate Controller, CFO, Auditors and the finance team as well as other managers in the company.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5-10 years previous demonstrated experience as a n Assistant Controller or Senior Accountant in a multi-plant tasking environment
  • Progressively increasing responsibility in accounting, standard costing, job order reporting, variance analysis, ABC (activity based costing), fixed asset inventories, account reconciliations and audit preparation/ assistance
  • CPA certification and/or master's degree required


EQUIPMENT USED

Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer and Manage 2000 or similar ERP system experience

WORKING AND PHYSICAL CONDITIONS

This position will be in an indoor office setting, sitting for long periods.
