OverviewThe Project Planner/Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining detailed job plans, including scheduling, cost estimation, and resource coordination, to support small capital projects in the oil and gas industry.
Responsibilities- Develop detailed job plans that include steps, durations, material and equipment needs, and cost estimates: resource requirements, sequence of scheduling, Gantt chart, cost estimate.
- Coordinate planning resources in accordance with small capital projects' cost estimates and schedules.
- Update plans with any approved change orders and develop new plans as needed.
- Develop a regular reporting cadence to communicate planned vs actual progress.
- Analyze and recommend resolutions for work problems and execute solutions.
- Adjust plans based on feedback from execution.
- Perform critical and near-critical path analysis.
- Prepare summary and detailed level schedules.
- Develop full Critical Path Method (CPM) logic-generated baseline schedules for projects.
- Participate in all project schedule reviews as required at Operations Review Meetings (ORMs) or other sessions.
- Participate in the development and preparation of proposal presentations, including preliminary bar chart schedules and staffing charts.
- Provide support and training in the use of project and scheduling software to office and jobsite staff.
- Conduct schedule and Work-In-Progress (WIP) reviews.
- Work together with multiple teams to coordinate both schedules and models.
- Interpret data, compile reports, and deliver presentations as required.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Mechanical, Industrial, or other related engineering fields.
- Five (5) or more years' experience in cost engineering, cost estimating, planning, scheduling, estimating, and other areas of project controls in an oil and gas environment.
- Advanced experience with scheduling software applications such as Primavera (P6) on projects required; large project experience highly preferred.
- Proven written and verbal communication skills; proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
