POSITION OVERVIEW
The Processing Operations Planner is responsible for developing and executing short-term and long-term operations plans and schedules for the Concentrator at Pinto Valley Mine. This role ensures operations activities are planned, resourced, and scheduled to support safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations. Primary focus is working with the operations and day labor crews to make sure operations tasked are completed and planned correctly in coordination with major maintenance activities.
The position works closely with maintenance, operations, and support teams to optimize equipment availability, improve reliability, and ensure alignment with site performance targets and SAP work management processes.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• Planning & Scheduling: Develop detailed daily, weekly, and long-term maintenance/operations plans and schedules for the concentrator, ensuring work is prioritized, resourced, and aligned with equipment strategies.
• Work Management: Manage work orders within the SAP system, including prioritization, scope definition, labor estimates, and schedule development to support efficient execution.
• Resource Coordination: Identify and coordinate required parts, materials, tools, equipment, and contractor support to ensure readiness for planned work.
• Field Coordination: Work closely with supervisors and crews in the field to validate job scope, confirm resource needs, and ensure plans are executable.
• Maintenance Strategy Support: Support preventive and predictive maintenance/operational programs, equipment reliability initiatives, and condition monitoring efforts.
• Performance & Cost Management: Support achievement of safety, equipment availability, and cost targets through effective planning, scheduling, and resource utilization.
• Contractor & Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure work is executed in compliance with site standards and schedules.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, equipment performance, and overall maintenance efficiency.
• Reporting & Meetings: Prepare and provide planning and scheduling reports and participate in daily, weekly, and long-term planning meetings.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Required
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in maintenance or operational planning and scheduling, preferably in mining or heavy industrial operations
• Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance, operations, or related technical roles
• Strong knowledge of maintenance or operational planning, scheduling, and work management processes
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance practices
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Outlook
• Experience using SAP or similar work management systems
• Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Preferred
• Experience planning maintenance/operational tasks for mining equipment, facilities, concentrator, SXEW, or tailings operations
• SAP experience with Asset Management or planning modules
• Background as a maintenance planner, supervisor, craftsperson, or engineer
WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Combination of office-based planning work and field-based coordination in an active mining operation
• Approximately 80% office work and 20% field interaction
• Walking on uneven ground and navigating industrial work areas
• Exposure to dust, noise, heat, and varying weather conditions
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) in operational areas
All candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment medical exam, drug and alcohol test, and background check.
