What You'll Be Doing

Job Scope: The primary mission of the Planner is to support the execution of projects by ensuring project managers, project teams, and other key stakeholders are provided with detailed project analysis, information, systems, and processes needed to effectively manage project forecasts, schedules, and other essential project information to execute projects safely, on time, and on budget. The role is based in Houston near the Galleria area.

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise, and understands terms, acronyms, and definitions relating to Scheduling.
  • Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services
  • Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends best practices
  • Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions
  • Thinks beyond the status quo to develop solutions to complex problems that improve performance, efficiency and safety
  • Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations
  • Manages projects or programs with moderate resource requirements, risk and/or complexity; monitors and controls schedules
  • May lead teams and involved in complex projects
  • Makes decisions guided by policies in non-standard situations; impacts the achievement of customer, functional, operational, project or service objectives
  • Anticipates internal/external customer needs; assesses requirements and identifies new solutions

Ideal Background

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field is highly preferred.

Experience: Requires 5+ years of relevant industrial experience in planning, scheduling, cost control and estimating.
