Full Job Description
Planner III (Dayton, OH):
  • Conduct work as an aviation urban planner working on aviation planning project management to support clients on deploying technology and implementing programmatic solutions for master plans, airport layout plans, site and facility plans, and statewide planning efforts.
  • Implement emerging technology and policies regarding unmanned aircraft system traffic management (UTM), urban air mobility (UAM), and autonomous systems.
  • Collaborate with the national aviation services operations team and dedicated aviation staff to deliver practice goals.
  • Assist in business growth of aviation planning and advanced air mobility (AAM) applications by developing and supporting new and existing business and contract opportunities.
  • Drive partnerships in the aviation industry to win and perform projects.
  • Prepare articles and speak at regional conference presentations.
  • Ensure successful project delivery, quality, customer satisfaction, financial performance, and team and office satisfaction.
  • Manage, monitor, and forecast metrics using backlog, profit and loss, sales, net revenue, and utilization.
  • Support proposals, shortlist presentations, and white papers for prospective clients and participate in contract negotiations.
  • Review project documentation for work plans through final deliverables.
  • Advise clients on innovative technology and content.
  • Recommend strategies and prepare implementation and mitigation strategies.

Requirements:
  • Master's/ Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Aviation Planning, or related field of study.
  • Five (5)/ seven (7) years experience with interpreting and applying FAA advisory circulars, engineering briefs, design standards, and state or local regulatory frameworks; preparing planning documents, including master plans, airport layout plans, site and facility plans, statewide system plans, technical reports, or other produced deliverables; conducting data collection in the form of surveys, field inspections, and stakeholder interviews to support planning studies; interpreting data, performing statistical analysis, and synthesizing technical data to develop planning recommendations; synthesizing aviation regulatory guidance, industry trends, and operational forecasts with principles of infrastructure planning, civil engineering, environmental impact management, land use planning, and construction phasing to produce regulatory-compliant planning solutions; creating concepts for vertiports and other supporting infrastructure on and off airports; identifying and solving aviation issues associated with facility siting, growth or expansion through siting studies, capacity analyses, land use planning, infrastructure requirements assessments, and client, stakeholder, and public engagement; summarizing deliverables through presentations, workshop materials, executive summaries, webpages, and story maps; airport master planning and airport layout plan development, including inventory assessments, forecasting, alternatives analysis, environmental assessments and capital planning, statewide system plans, urban and regional planning studies, and economic impact assessments; developing literature reviews, mobilizing field research teams, research test planning, stakeholder and community engagement, and developing GIS based exhibits, tools, and visualizations; and preparing proposals and marketing materials and conducting project interviews for contract opportunities.
