PKI SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

As a PKISystems Administratorsupporting CIS, you will ensureintegrity, availability, and secure operation of enterprise public key infrastructure services. You will manage certificates, tokens, authentication services, andidentity relatedsecurity functions that underpin access to critical systems across multiple networks and security domains. Your work strengthens identity assurance, protects sensitive environments, and supports securemission essentialoperations across a large, distributed enterprise.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Issue, manage, andmaintaincertificates, tokens, and authentication credentials for users and systems, ensuring adherence to PKI standards and security requirements
  • Support full lifecycle PKI operations, including issuance, synchronization, renewal, revocation, and troubleshooting of certificates across multiple networks and enclaves
  • Provideknowledge-basedsupport for customers, Trusted Agents (TAs), and system administrators, advising on authentication, token management, and certificate usage
  • Maintain PKI infrastructure health by monitoring certificate stores,expirationtimelines, CRL validation, and associated authentication systems
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise multifactor authentication requirements and enforce credentialing policies for both user and nonperson entity (NPE) identities
  • Supportidentity relatedincident response by diagnosing authentication failures, resolving certificate conflicts, and restoring secure access
  • Maintain required documentation, service procedures, and operational artifacts to support secure and consistent PKI operations

WHAT YOU92LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • EDUCATION: Bachelor92s degree in an IT-related field, or 10+ years of relevant IT experience in lieu of a degree
  • CERTIFICATION: Meet DoD 8140 Information Assurance Workforce certification requirements (e.g., Security+ CE, etc.)
  • CLEARANCE: Active TS/SCI clearance with a favorable polygraph
  • Experience with PKI administration, certificate services, token issuance, or authentication workflows in enterprise or secure environments
  • Working knowledge of multifactor authentication, identity credential management, and certificate lifecycle processes
  • Ability to troubleshoot certificate issues across distributed systems, networks, and platforms
  • Strong customer service, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to support technical and nontechnical users
  • Familiarity with identity management tools, CRL validation, and certificate authorities is highly desirable
  • US citizenship required

The likely salary range for this position is $147,292 - $199,278. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
