The Opportunity

Shape the World Around You - As a Senior Piping Engineer, you will contribute your technical leadership to impactful, multidisciplinary projects that support safer, more efficient, and more sustainable mining, metals and industrial infrastructure systems. You'll guide design, mentor engineers, and collaborate across teams to deliver solutions that help communities and industries thrive.

This position will be located in one of our Ontario Offices, ideally in northern Ontario.

At WSP, our Resources subsector plays a vital role within our Energy, Resources & Industry (ERI) sector, delivering end-to-end solutions for clients across Canada. Your Impact

In this role, you will:
  • Lead mechanical piping design packages from concept development through detailed engineering, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with project goals.
  • Develop piping systems, specifications, calculations, and deliverables that support safe, reliable, and high-performing operations for mining, metals, heavy industrial clients.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate piping design with process, structural, electrical, controls, and construction requirements.
  • Review designs, drawings, and engineering documents to ensure quality, constructability, and adherence to industry codes and best practices.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to intermediate and junior engineers, supporting team growth and capability development.
  • Engage directly with clients, contractors, and internal partners to solve complex technical challenges and advance project delivery.

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • University Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related.
  • At least 15+years of piping engineering experience in mining and heavy industrial projects.
  • You hold (or are eligible for) a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada.
  • You bring proven experience solving real-world engineering challenges, from equipment specification to system design and integration.
  • You're comfortable working in the field or onsite as needed and adhere to all safety requirements.
  • You have working proficiency with mechanical design and modeling tools and continuously grow your technical toolkit.

Compensation

Compensation:
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $122,900 - $162,800
MB & ON: $112,100 - $154,400
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $111,000 - $147,400
